We are seeking an experienced Project Planner who is driven and takes pride in technical precision and production quality. The successful candidate will work on a variety of land development projects as part of a multi‑disciplined design team that includes civil engineers, planners, and landscape architects. Working closely with Senior Planners, Landscape Architects, and Project Managers, you will help lead CADD production efforts in the Planning Department and play a key role in translating preliminary design concepts into accurate, high‑quality entitlement documents. This is an in‑office position based at our Tyson, Virginia office.
Required Qualifications
3‑5 years’ direct experience preparing entitlement drawings.
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred); experience with water, sewer, and general utility design; roadway and related site design including cross sections; using and manipulating aerial and topographic map files; and preparing entitlement documents.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
Responsibilities
Lead CADD operations, ensuring complex planning entitlement drawings are produced with precision and quality.
Apply advanced CADD skills to create planning entitlement drawings in full conformance with VIKA’s design requirements.
Coordinate efforts with VIKA Planning, Landscape Architecture, Engineering staff, and outside consultants—including land‑use attorneys, architects, and dry utility engineers—to prepare planning entitlement documents for assigned project development phases.
