MANTECH is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to provide technical leadership and high-level program management support to a sponsor organization in the Washington, DC area. This is a hybrid position.
This role requires a background in Radio Frequency (RF), extensive experience in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, and deep expertise in Project Management. The candidate will serve as a strategic advisor and technical lead, supporting the sponsor in the oversight of mission-critical tactical communications and modernization programs. You will be responsible for providing the technical and PM-level oversight necessary to ensure the sponsor's federal programs meet performance, cost, and schedule objectives. This position is a hybrid role requiring up to 3 days per week at a sponsor site in the Washington, DC area.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide technical leadership and strategic implementation support for mission-critical communication systems within sponsor-led Federal programs
Support the oversight of complex tactical communications initiatives
Deliver program management support for financial accountability, including review of budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
Advise sponsor leadership on large-scale communications infrastructure modernization programs
Provide expert guidance to Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure technical and quality requirements are met
Monitor program performance data to assist the sponsor in maintaining schedule and budget adherence through Earned Value Management (EVM) and risk mitigation analysis
Support the sponsor's engagement with Contracting Officers (CO), Contracting Officer Representatives (COR), and other senior stakeholders
Analyze technical, cost, and programmatic data to assist the sponsor in decision-making and capture strategies
Prepare and deliver executive-level briefings and program status reports for senior government leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
20+ years of experience in technical leadership or program support for large-scale federal and defense programs
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), RF Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification
Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Jira, and Microsoft Office Suite
Proven experience supporting the management of federal contracts and program financial performance
Demonstrated expertise in Land Mobile Radio (LMR) and systems engineering lifecycle support
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related graduate degree.
Clearance Requirement:
Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance prior to starting on program.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Must be able to travel to sponsor sites in the Washington, DC area up to 3 days per week.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, customers, and senior government leadership, which may involve delivering formal technical briefings and training sessions
The projected compensation range for this position is $212,000.00-$388,900.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
