
Human Resources Manager

Job Summary
Leads the strategic and functional operations of the HR department, aligning staff management with organizational goals. Provides human resources expertise to the business and advises on all matters related to human resources, benefits and safety related issues. Responsible for understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment, payroll, safety and benefits legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Strategic Planning: Collaborates with senior leadership to develop HR strategies that support company growth, staffing, and retention goals.
Talent Management: Oversees the full recruitment lifecycle, onboarding, and performance management processes.
Employee Relations: Acts as a liaison to manage grievances, investigations, and employee engagement initiatives to improve morale.
Compliance & Policy: Ensures company adherence to local, state, and federal labor regulations; develops and updates company policies.
Compensation & Benefits: Manages payroll processes, benefits administration, and compensation structures to ensure competitiveness.
Leadership: Demonstrates proactive leadership, taking initiative without needing constant direct supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, human resources management or a related field
Previous supervisor and project management experience a must.
Minimum of 10+ years HR Management and Generalist experience, within a manufacturing facility; food manufacturing highly desirable.
SHRM and 30 OSHA Certification highly desirable including OSHA document requests and fines.
Strong knowledge of CA HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
Experience with Rippling systems.
Excellent communications – written and oral – including presentation skills and translations (English/Spanish).
Experience
Understand the applicable labor laws, regulations, and contractual language and effectively communicate them to employees and managers.
Facilitate legal and regulatory compliance to all internal and external reporting entities by preparing and maintaining required reports and policies, handling unemployment claims, OSHA inspections and citations, and conducting required investigations.
Current knowledge of best practice human resources processes and tools in the areas of performance management, compensation, recruiting, talent development and succession.
Business working knowledge: Demonstrates understanding of the financials and metrics of the business; shows appreciation for, understands, and balances the needs of employees with the needs of the business.
Responsible for providing guidance and support on performance management concerns through fair and consistent application of appropriate disciplinary procedures and/or legal requirements.
Understanding and managing leave of absence policies through the HRIS system, including Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), FMLA/CFRA, Pregnancy Leave, etc.
Understanding and managing the bi-weekly payroll and system programming.
Managing companywide employee benefits, building and managing insurance policies and renewals; time and attendance, time-off policies, medical benefits, annual enrollments and 401(k) while utilizing the HRIS system.
Managing temp labor workforce.
Manage full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, and offer letters.
Create and provide new employees with a comprehensive onboarding program to enable a smooth transition into the organization.
Prepare internal HR related documents including employment, promotions, transfer letters and termination forms.
Manages WC claims.
Represents and manages the process of labor, safety and OSHA related matters.
Oversee all HR related functions of three company sites.

Pay Scale
The pay range for this position is expected to be $95,000 - $115,000 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Work Environment
Onsite: The employee in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a company office-based environment.
