Private estate seeking an experienced gardener. Part-time, seasonal opportunity suited to a skilled professional gardener with an energetic, positive personality and strong work ethic.
The position is for immediate hire.
Hours:
MWF (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

Responsibilities:
Passionate about plants, plant health, and fine gardening as a craft, with a natural eye for quality and detail
Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in fine gardening, horticulture
Solid plant knowledge and identification skills — ornamental perennials, shrubs, and trees common to New England
Confident and practiced hand pruning skills with a thorough understanding of technique and timing
Skilled hand pruning of shrubs and trees of all varieties, with proper technique, timing, and an understanding of plant growth habits
Applying fertilizers and soil amendments
Assisting with new plantings, transplanting, and dividing perennials
Planting and maintaining seasonal container arrangements
Hand watering plants, containers, and beds during dry and hot periods
Observing plants closely for signs of stress, disease, or pest pressure and communicating findings to the team
Understanding and honoring each client’s individual needs and desires for their property
Lifting up to 25 lbs. and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
