As our Shipping Clerk, you will be tasked with providing a detail‑oriented, proactive, professional approach to coordinating driver check‑ins, dock assignments, inventory allocations, and shipping documentation while keeping efficiency and customer satisfaction a top priority.
Position-Related Functions and Job Duties
Responsible to welcome and check in drivers; assign dock doors to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Create transfer orders and allocate products to customer orders using FEFO principles.
Prepare and issue Bills of Lading (BOL) for shipments.
Collaborate with the Shipping, Inventory Control, and Customer Service teams to keep processes streamlined.
Lead collaborative forecasting with Warehouse and Manufacturing teams to develop short- and long‑term demand plans.
Communicate material requirements to Manufacturing for production planning and supply continuity.
Coordinate loading schedules based on appointments or deadlines to avoid detention charges.
Maintain and update departmental purchasing reports to support internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with related functions including inventory control, manufacturing support, and management of expired/damaged materials.
Use analytical tools and reports to optimize inventory and supply flow.
Education and Qualifications
High School Diploma, General Education or equivalent experience.
Technical or Vocational Training a plus.
Experience in shipping, inventory management, or supply chain operations (WMS experience preferred).
Strong skills in forecasting, logistics coordination, and inventory management.
Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and external partners.
Working knowledge of supply chain integration, transportation management, and warehouse best practices.
Confident using analytical tools, inventory models, and forecasting tools to guide decisions.
Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
Pay Range
United States of America: $52,000 – $59,000
