Job Summary
The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The Loader Operator must also clean, maintain, and secure all equipment as directed by policies, procedures, and operator manuals.
Job Responsibilities
Operate front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, feed conveyors, hoppers, and load trucks or railcars.
Start engine, shift gears, press pedals, and turn steering wheel to operate loader.
Lower and tilt bucket, drive loader to force bucket into bulk materials.
Raise and tilt bucket, drive vehicle to work site, dump material.
Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to maintain adequate quantity and quality of raw materials.
Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Ensure raw materials meet established standards and participate in quality assurance.
Meet established performance indicators.
Improve plant and surrounding area performance.
Follow procedures to comply with state, federal, and local regulations.
Participate in minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment.
Coordinate with plant superintendent, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems and recommend solutions.
Haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags.
Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
Meet or exceed company safety standards.
Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Be able to read, write, and speak English.
Working Conditions
Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
Physical Requirements
Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
Exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently.
Job involves sitting most of the time, but also walking or standing for brief periods.
Regularly required to talk and hear for communication and safety.
Must perform all job functions that include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
