JOB TITLE
Employee Relations Operations Specialist/Associate
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Serve as a liaison between ER and other departments, facilitating communication and collaboration on matters related to benefits, safety, health, and security.
Provide effective and timely communications for employees to ensure understanding and alignment to company goals and initiatives.
Monitor employee sentiments to identify issues/trends, propose proactive solutions aligned with business needs, and advise management in issue identification.
Assist management with the application and interpretation of policies and procedures.
Support employee onboarding and orientation.
Identify opportunities and recommendations to drive positive changes for HMGMA.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
Advocate for employees and for the company.
Build strong relationships with employees and promote employee engagement.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum five (5) years of experience in Employee Relations, Law, or HR
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Experience with Microsoft Office products or equivalent applications
Deep understanding of the external automobile market and current trends
Extensive knowledge and experience in analyzing data and developing proposals
Preferred Qualifications
HR Management, Organizational Psychology, or Labor Relations major preferred
Work experience in automotive industry
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
Competency Based
Information gathering and processing capabilities
Ability to set up a collection plan and procedure for necessary data and information, collect data and information using various methods and tools, and process it according to the intention.
Presentation skills
Presentation skills, lecture skills, speech techniques, use of PowerPoint.
Media Utilization Capabilities
Media utilization skills, editor skills, meticulousness.
Ability to use various media to provide necessary information in the most suitable form, or to process information materials according to the characteristics of the media to be used.
Curriculum development competency
Ability to plan and establish learning goals, learning content, learning methods and types, and learning evaluation.
Domestic / International travel required.

Physical Demands
While in Office: This position is primarily sedentary and requires working at a desk and computer for extended periods. Responsibilities may include:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk within the office environment as needed
When in Production Area (if applicable): Standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended durations
Repeated lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of materials and products (up to 25–30 pounds)
Manual dexterity for handling power tools, machinery, or production equipment
Working in environments that may be noisy, hot, or require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to climb ladders or stairs and operate equipment safely and effectively
Capability to learn and work on multiple production processes, as required
Adequate visual and auditory abilities to identify safety hazards and communicate clearly
Consistent and punctual attendance
Ability to collaborate and perform effectively in a team‑oriented environment
