Summary
Fabrication Technician works in Fabriction_ reporting to Fab Manager

Position Overview
Fabrication Technician assists in the production of custom aluminum marine towers and related components. Role focuses on cutting, bending, and preparing aluminum parts to specification, performing light welding, and operating fabrication equipment. The Fab Tech will have strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cut aluminum tubing and plate materials according to specifications and measurements.

Bend aluminum components using shop equipment and bending tools.

Perform light welding and tack welding to assist with tower assembly.

Operate fabrication equipment such as band saws, tube benders, drill presses, and other light machinery.

Read and follow shop drawings, measurements, and templates.

Deburr, clean, and prepare aluminum parts for assembly or welding.

Assist with assembly of marine towers and related components.

Conduct inspections and quality checks on fabricated parts to ensure compliance with specifications.

Collaborate with the supervisor to identify and resolve manufacturing and assembly issues.

Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and 5S standards.

Accurately and promptly record completed work, materials used, and any issues encountered.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience in metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly.

Ability to read measurements and work accurately with tape measures and fabrication tools.

Comfortable operating basic shop machinery and fabrication equipment.

Ability to follow instructions and work from shop drawings or templates.

Ability to measure, cut, and assemble materials accurately.

Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.

Good problem‑solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor issues.

Knowledge of boating components or marine systems a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to Stand and Walk for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry/move up to 50 lbs.

Frequent needs to: climb, crawl, push, pull, lift, rotate arms at various angles, reach overhead, reach at or below shoulder level, gross and fine manipulation to operate hand and power tools, stooping, crouching, kneeling, crawling, speaking, hearing, visually inspecting work, etc.

Ability to work in confined spaces within boat hulls and compartments.

Work in an environment with exposure to noise at levels not requiring ear protection, chemicals, and dust. Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses or eye protection, ear protection, gloves, steel‑toe boots, and respirators as required.

Work off a creeper.

Seasonal Temperatures may impact work environment.
