Along with helping our students reach their goals, Pensacola State makes career fulfillment a reality.**## ### **Job Description:**The Coordinator, Veteran and Military Family Service Center, coordinates, supervises, and administers the Veteran and Military Family Service Center (VMFSC) area; facilitates implementation of VMFSC policies and procedures for Veterans Affairs (VA), DOD, and the state and federal Departments of Education (DOE). Reports to the Director, Veteran and Military Family Service Center.**Duties and Responsibilities:*** Coordinates the receipt and dissemination of VA, active-duty military, and National Guard materials and documents to assigned staff, department coordinators, and the director.* Evaluates student eligibility and appropriate documentation for all VA students in Workday.* Assists students in the completion of Veterans Affairs applications.* Creates appropriate publications for the dissemination of necessary VMFSC information.* Publicizes the availability of student financial aid and veteran education benefits through multi-media applications and publications.* Prepares and administers the departmental budget for VMFSC area and compiles area statistical reports.* Participates in recruitment activities in area high schools, military bases, workshops, and/or community meetings.* Participates in appropriate training activities, assists training coordinator with VA team training, and provides presentations when appropriate.* Ensures compliance with all pertinent VA, DOD, and DOE laws and directives.* Provides administration of department plan for training of all VMFSC representatives to ensure staff cross-training to improve student support.* Provides management, hiring, and training of VA Work Study Students.* Serves as liaison with military and National Guard sponsors to assure compliance with changing regulations and benefits.* Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position.
Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.* Performs other duties as assigned.**Essential Functions:*** Must be able to manage and coordinate diverse groups of people from all sectors of the community and the college for cooperation and focus on a single goal.* Strong oral and written communication skills.* Ability to create written correspondence.* Regular and consistent attendance, as well as punctuality, are essential to fulfilling the requirements of this job.* In-district, and overnight travel.**Minimum Qualifications**:
Graduation from an institution that holds accreditation recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and approved by the College with a bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible-related work experience in financial aid or Veterans Affairs.
Successful results of a criminal background check are required.Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of §435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.**Annual Salary:
