Maintenance Worker
Join our team as a Maintenance Worker. This position will assist the Bridge Maintenance group of Public Works with the following duties:
Assist in the maintenance and repair of bridges and culvert structures throughout the City. Repair and replacement of damaged guardrail systems.
Occasionally operate light automotive equipment and specialized maintenance equipment, such as concrete saws, jack hammers, sandblasters, acetylene torches, etc.
Assist with the removal of overgrown vegetation along headwalls, wing walls, and slope protection utilizing such equipment as weed eaters, chain saws, pole saws, and lawn mowers.
Perform a variety of manual work to complete assigned tasks on bridge structures, culverts, and guardrail systems.
Perform other job duties requiring the skills, knowledge, and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less.
Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
Position is ALPHA 1 and is required to work during all inclement weather (flooding, hurricanes, snow, etc.).
Pre-employment physical is required.
