Office Clerk
Protean Instruments is looking for an Office Clerk to join our team in Knoxville, TN! The Office Clerk will perform routine clerical duties to support the organization. The ideal candidate is both technically capable and highly organized, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities
Performs clerical duties including typing, filing and completion of related organizational forms
Operate office machines including copiers, scanners, phone/voicemail systems, computers and other standard office equipment
Answer phones, direct calls to appropriate individuals and prepare messages
Copy, sort and file records related to office activities, business transactions and other matters as directed
Prepare letters, memorandums, forms and reports according to written and verbal instructions
Sort incoming mail and deliver to appropriate department or individual and process outgoing mail
Maintain filing systems either manually or electronically
Manage calendar and schedule appointments as needed
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Clerical experience preferred
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Ability to follow directions
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
