Job Overview
Perform duties assigned by the Supervisor such as training, modelling, and coaching in the use of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) strategies for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in elementary and secondary schools; and, coordinate and collaborate with community agencies, school teams, and members of the Student Services Team.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and recommend classroom resources for schools to support the implementation of ABA-based strategies (i.e., Tier 1 and 2 resources).

Develop and support the implementation of Behaviour Support Plans with a focus on students with ASD, under the clinical supervision of a registered behaviour analyst.

Participate in case conferences with parents, school teams, and community services providers pertaining to Behaviour Support Plans.

Participate in transition planning of ASD students into school from community agency support (i.e., Connections, Targeted Transitions).

Coordinate and provide Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) to school board personnel (i.e., TCI curriculum).

Provide recommendations to support the implementation of TCI protocols and student Safety Plans.

Qualifications

Minimum completion of a three (3) year post‑secondary diploma with a focus on ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis), or a related field.

Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience working with children and youth with ASD.

Experience developing and implementing ABA behaviour management strategies for classroom use and for group based programming.

Experience coordinating and facilitating TCI training. Certification preferred or a willingness to obtain TCI certification.

Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Must possess a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License and have consistent access to a reliable vehicle to meet the multi‑location demands of this position.

Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Background check.

Working Conditions

Exposure to frequent noise/intrusions when working in the office or school environment.

Exposure to regular and ongoing elevated child and youth behaviours and difficult situations.

Exposure to increased likelihood of encountering workplace violence/crisis situations.

Physical Requirements

Moderate physical effort. Perform tasks occasionally requiring physical exertion.

Sufficient physical strength, mobility and dexterity to perform physical restraints active response, including running, lifting, climbing, etc.
