
Onsite Coordinator

Overview
History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 4,000 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.
The Onsite Transport Coordinator acts as a liaison between Superior Air Ground Ambulance and the Hospital, communicating and continuing to develop to the ever changing transport needs of the hospital. The Onsite Transport Coordinator also works as support staff for the transfer center, discharge planners and social workers assisting with arranging and expediting transports coming into and leaving the hospital.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Onsite Coordinator consist of, but are not limited to the following:
Exemplary service to all customers, internal and external
Initiative and Accountability
Responsiveness
Schedule and organize different levels of transportation, determining level of care required based upon patient needs
Prioritize transports to maximize discharge turnover
Request billing information and required documents
Respond to common inquires and forward issues and complaints to appropriate level
Assist in organizing patient belongings and patient paperwork for transport
Assist in obtaining necessary billing information, documents and payment as required by protocol
Demonstrates knowledge and compliance regarding ambulance and medicar scope of practice, specialty and billing procedures
Qualifications
Licensed Emergency Medical Dispatcher (IDPH) within 1 year of employment
Minimum six months related experience
Ability to maintain composure in an emergency and high stress situations
Track record of customer service excellent
Detail Oriented
Maintain a positive and professional attitude at all times
