Catering Server- Part Time, $16.25/Hour + Gratuities
Responsible for greeting guests and creating an exceptional guest experience during banquet events. May take food orders and deliver items to guests in a timely manner. Perform various drink making techniques which include shaking, stirring, blending and layering. Ability to hold extensive conversations with guests, providing exemplary service.
Must be comfortable working in a banquet environment
Ability to work with bar/restaurant equipment including, but not limited to coffee brewers, soda guns, oval trays, glassware, and other supplies
Must be comfortable working with bar supplies including small trays, glassware, food garnishes
Mixes and serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks to patrons of the bar following standard recipes
Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks
May clean, polish and set up bars with tables, linen, glassware, and napkins
Places bottled goods and glasses to make attractive displays
Sets tables and/or seats guests
Anticipates guests’ needs and acts accordingly
Serves food and beverage to guests at proper temperature
Shares knowledge of wines and spirits with guests
Articulates menu options and ingredients to guests
Serves wine and draught or bottled beer
Assists guests with directions, entertainment, show event schedules and other information
May clear tables and perform pre‑bussing duties
Orders or requisitions liquor and supplies
Practices proper sanitation procedures and maintains cleanliness of the area
Completes assigned side work as necessary including but not limited to polishing silverware, folding/rolling napkins, filling condiment caddies, cleaning beverage side station, slicing and pitting fruit for garnishing drinks, and cleaning and maintaining work areas
May combine the serving of food with a small amount of food preparation
May serve as a cocktail server
Must meet state requirements to obtain a Hawaii Liquor Commission card
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous bartending experience in a fast‑paced high‑volume environment
Demonstrated excellent guest service and service recovery abilities
Adept at troubleshooting and can calmly handle difficult situations
Self‑directed, trusted and well respected by peers
Ability to multi‑task and work in a very fast‑paced environment
Speed, accuracy and efficiency are required; ability to work well under pressure
Must be flexible and able to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, holidays and special events
Alcohol awareness training (e.g., RVP, TIPS or equivalent)
Basic wine knowledge
Some food serving knowledge/experience
Knowledge of Hawaiian/Japanese language preferred
Qualifications – Basic
Must meet state requirements to obtain a Hawaii Liquor Commission card
Must be at least 18 years of age
