Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Meets Arkansas Qualified Teacher (AQT) Standards
Valid Arkansas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned preferred

Job Goals
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical and social growth. Enable students to develop competences and skills to function successfully in society.
Performance Responsibilities
As a part of the base salary, Employee will provide students with enrichment activities or remediation two (2) days a week as approved by the principal, chief operating officer or executive director.
Participate in professional learning communities (PLC) as approved by the principal chief operating officer or executive director three days a week.
Work the entire school day and all other hours scheduled, including those on nights, early mornings and weekends; this includes high school graduation, open house and fall festival.
Demonstrate relentless commitment to academic achievement of all students.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and demonstrations.
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Communicate and promote expectations for high level performance from students; hold students accountable for high performance; recognize excellence and achievement.
Establish and maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment in which students actively participate and show respect for one another and the teacher.
Assess, track, and provide feedback to students on their progress and assignments and maintain record of grades.
Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Help students to analyze and improve study methods and habits.
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of Academics Plus Charter School.
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents and community members to establish a positive learning environment.
Meet parents and guardians to discuss children’s progress and determine priorities and resource needs.
Assume responsibility for assigned non-teaching duties.
Participate in activities related to school functions and/or educational processes that occur outside the regular school day.
Communicate positively with students, parents, visitors and staff.
Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school positively at all times.
Other duties as assigned by principals.

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical Demands: Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing; move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
