
Personal Trainer, HWC Lifestyles/ Medical Fitness, Per Diem, Day

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Supervisor of Medical Fitness, the Personal Trainer is responsible for assessing their clients’ physical fitness level, abilities, and goals. The personal trainer designs and implements a personalized exercise program and provides instruction, motivation, and support. They are responsible for the demonstration of proper exercise techniques, ensuring appropriateness and effectiveness. Responsibilities also include ensuring a safe environment for workouts, policy enforcement, record keeping, and delivering excellent customer service at all times.
Education
Specific certification in personal training required from an organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), including, but not limited to: ACSM, ACE, NASM, NSCA, NETA, ISFTA, AFAA. The Pilates Reformer Personal Trainer position must be certified by an ITTAP (International Teacher Training Accreditation for Pilates) accredited certification program with a minimum of 300 hours training in lieu of personal training certification. Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of one (1) year as a personal trainer required. Experience in the assessment of clients’ physical fitness level and abilities and personalized exercise program design required. Experience working with a diverse population of clients in private, semi-private, and a small group setting preferred. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
Skills
Current CPR certification is required.
Basic computer operation and data input skills.
In depth knowledge of gym equipment, machines, and appropriate exercise form and techniques with strong motivational presence and enthusiasm for helping clients reach their fitness goals. Must possess a professional attitude and demeanor.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required. Capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications with clients, co-workers, and clinical staff. Effective group process skills. Effective oral and written communication skills to express ideas clearly. Effective listening skills.
Ability to work cooperatively with clients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members.
Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations, if needed. Ability to use effective analytical and critical thinking skills to problem-solve. Ability to pay attention to details, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and the changing work environment related to changing client needs.
Must possess excellent costumer service skills with the ability to attract and retain clients.

Pay Range: $22.99 - $28.74 (per hour). Actual salaries may vary based on experience, education, and licensure.
