
Religious Education Coordinator

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
Scope and Responsibilities
1.1Scope: The coordinator will provide religious education coordination to the Yuma Proving Ground Chapel as defined in this Performance Work Statement (PWS) for Yuma Proving Ground. Services include Religious Education Programs: Children’s Church; Kid’s Club, Kingdom Kids, children or youth events, Vacation Bible School, and Manpower Reporting.
1.2Period of Performance: The period of performance shall be for one (1) Base Year of 12 months.
2.1Quality Control: N/A
2.2Quality Assurance: The government will evaluate the coordinator’s performance under this contract in accordance with the Quality Assurance Surveillance Plan. This plan is primarily focused on what the Government must do to ensure that the coordinator has performed in accordance with the performance standards. It defines how the performance standards will be applied, the frequency of surveillance, and the minimum acceptable defect rate(s).
2.3Recognized Holidays: The Coordinator may be required to perform services on recognized Federal holidays when performed as part of the Command Master Religious Plan. New Year’s Day, Labor Day, Martin Luther King Jr.’s Birthday, Columbus Day, President’s Day, Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving Day, Independence Day, Christmas Day.
2.4Hours of Operation: The coordinator is responsible for conducting business during hours that correspond with programs on the established Command Master Religious Plan including weekends and evenings, unless the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed facility closings.
Special Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Protestant Christian religion.
Basic knowledge of other religions.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience working in a church/chapel environment.
Understanding of Military families.
Must adhere to Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program and Army EO/EEO requirements.
Verifiable experience working with children grades K-12.
Periodic Meetings
5.1Post Award Conference/Periodic Progress Meetings: The Coordinator agrees to attend any post award conference convened by the contracting activity or contract administration office. The contracting officer, Contracting Officers Representative (COR), and other Government personnel may meet periodically with the coordinator to review performance. These meetings shall be at no additional cost to the government.
Specific Tasks
5.1Basic Services
The coordinator shall provide services for YPG Chapel Religious Protestant Education for the USAYPG.
The Coordinator of the Protestant Religious Education shall provide oversight for all the logistical, administrative, and programming support for the Protestant Religious Education at USAYPG.
5.2Children’s Church Program
Direct, plan, and conduct Children’s Church program each Sunday of the contract.
Coordinate all plans with the Chapel Staff and address needs or issues as they arise.
Coordinate volunteer staff with rosters.
Ensure all volunteers are background vetted through DPTMS.
Provide volunteers with plans and schedules prior to events they will work.
Ensure approved designated teachers are in position each week.
Submit orders for literature and supplies to the Chaplain NCOIC through CHIPS.
Recruit volunteers to staff Children’s Church.
Coordinate post wide publication of Children’s Church with Chapel Staff.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for kids.
Average attendance range: 5-30.
5.3Kid’s Club Program
Direct, plan, and conduct weekly Kid’s Club program on Monday 1300-1500 after school.
Coordinate all plans with the Chapel Staff and address needs or issues as they arise.
Coordinate volunteer staff with rosters.
Ensure all volunteers are background vetted through DPTMS.
Provide volunteers with plans and schedules prior to events they will work.
Ensure approved designated teachers are in position each week.
Submit orders for literature and supplies to the Chaplain NCOIC through CHIPS.
Conduct registration for Kids’ Bible Club program.
Recruit volunteers to staff Kid’s Club Program.
Coordinate post-wide publication of Kids’ Bible Club program with Chapel Staff.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for kids.
Average attendance range: 30-70.
5.4Kingdom Kids Program
Direct, plan, and conduct weekly Kingdom Kids on Wednesday 1500-1700 of school day.
Coordinate all plans with the Chapel Staff and address needs or issues as they arise.
Coordinate volunteer staff with rosters.
Ensure all volunteers are background vetted through DPTMS.
Provide volunteers with plans and schedules prior to events they will work.
Ensure approved designated teachers are in position each week.
Submit orders for literature and supplies to the Chaplain NCOIC through CHIPS.
Conduct registration for Kingdom Kids program.
Recruit volunteers to staff Kingdom Kids program.
Coordinate post-wide publication of Kingdom Kids program with Chapel Staff.

5.5Children or Youth Events
Plan and conduct Special Children or Youth Events (NTE 10 per year at least 30 days between events).
Ensure that each event is on the Chapel calendar 90 days prior to the Event.
Coordinate all plans with the Chapel Staff and address needs or issues as they arise.
Coordinate designating and assigning availability of Chapel with Chapel Staff.
Recruit volunteers to assist with program, as needed.
Ensure all volunteers are background vetted through DPTMS.
Coordinate publication of Special Children or Youth Events with Chapel Staff.
Demonstrate enthusiasm for kids.
Attendance varies based on the community involvement: 10-70 average.
5.6Vacation Bible School
Plan and conduct a five-day VBS program, coordinate dates with Chapel Staff.
Ensure that VBS is on the Chapel calendar 120 days prior to the Event.
Coordinate all plans with the Chapel Staff and address needs or issues as they arise.
Coordinate designating and assigning availability of Chapel with Chapel Staff.
Recruit volunteers to assist with program, as needed.
Ensure all volunteers are background vetted through DPTMS.
Coordinate ordering literature and supplies for the VBS 120 days prior to event.
Coordinate publication of Vacation Bible School with Chapel Staff.
Demonstrate enthusiasm.
Average attendance range: 60-80.
