Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable Asphalt Roller Operator to join our paving crew for the construction season. This position plays a critical role in achieving proper compaction and smoothness of newly laid asphalt. Travel to job sites may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Operate steel drum and/or pneumatic roller to compact and finish asphalt pavement
Work closely with the paver operator and screed operator to ensure consistent mat density
Monitor the condition of the pavement and adjust rolling patterns as needed
Perform daily safety inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
Follow all safety procedures and job site protocols
Required Qualifications
Prior experience operating asphalt rollers (1+ years preferred)
Familiarity with compaction techniques and mat temperature requirements
Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends during peak season
Reliable, safety‑focused, and a team player
Preferred Qualifications
CDL Class A or B (preferred but not required)
Experience with both breakdown and finish rolling
Seasonal work M-F 60+ hours a week (must be available to work Saturdays) Fargo location!
Excellent wages: $27.65-$33.40/hr DOE
Depending on experience, may qualify for fringe benefits- $17.99-$21.90/hr fringe (covers Health Insurance premiums & Pension).
Must be able to pass drug screen.
Education and Experience
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. 1-2 years of related experience and/or training in construction field is helpful. Highly competitive wages and benefits offered. Must pass urine drug test! Must be willing to work long hours during summer season.
