Summary
Based in Andover, MA the HIP Operator will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Operations Supervisor to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. The HIP Operator operates the equipment in the Control Room, including starting the units, monitoring the units and sampling the gas used during the cycles and filling out the paperwork that goes to the end customer. In addition: building and boxing of the cycles and loading/unloading the cycles into/out of the units.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

Efficiently and carefully building and boxing of the cycle including loading/unloading customer parts onto, into or out of the units, baskets, tubs, racks or other containers as required.

Independently operates, controls and monitors unit equipment as required and written in standard procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork

Operate the equipment in the Control Room.

Creating/correcting Load Diagrams.

Updating Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Database.

Conduct gas analysis, using proper compressor usage, and when to save reclaimed gas and where to save it to.

Temperature and pressure to run cycles at for optimal temperatures/pressures with the allowed deltas.

Determine which thermocouples to disregard, where to place thermocouples for optimal temperature readings.

What temperature to start venting cycles at, how large of a can/ring to use for loading parts.

Follow the established work procedures and control measures (including the use of PPE where issued) and any applicable SHE rules.

Respect all guards, barriers and permits at all times.

Co-operate in health screening and surveillance procedures as required.

Immediately brings any unusual problem, irregularity or concern to Supervisor or management.

Ability to operate a forklift and crane.

Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.

Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.

This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and as such will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.

Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures and accept constructive criticism.

Qualifications

This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holder.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Prior experience with heat treatment operation and/or drinking/waste water management.

May be required to work overtime or any shifts, including weekends.

Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.

Physical & Mental Demands

Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment

Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions

Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.

Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions

Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing

Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

Ability to hear in person and via phone

Pay & Benefits Information
The hourly pay range for this position is $23 – $24 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non-exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law.

This role is {eligible
ot eligible} for additional compensation, including {shift differential, etc., if applicable}.
