
Packing Operator

The position is responsible for performing various duties to ensure overall safe and proper operation of various machinery in packaging area, maintaining all safety and quality process, adjusting the machines to optimum settings, obtaining minimal downtime, fewest rejects with efficient output and product switchovers.
Essential Job Functions
Ability to set up, operate, monitor, and troubleshoot on assigned machines.
Ensure a great level of attention to detail and safety standards.
Ensuring machine-specific functions, such as configuring the equipment, loading, and operating the machines, and optimizing the machine capability.
Ascertain that the machine works at its full capacity, oversee the basic maintenance, and they are responsible for the product quality.
Set up machines(calibration, cleaning etc.) to start a production cycle and control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed).
Constantly feed raw material (film or cartons) into packaging machinery throughout shift.
Continually monitor machine operation to ensure accurate product measurements are maintained.
Communicate mechanical and operational issues to the maintenance team as they arise.
Make minor machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
Maintain standard production rates, low waste and meet Shine requirements.
Complete all necessary documentation and reports.
Monitor raw material scrap levels to continuously decrease waste.
Assists in directing and training employees assigned to a specific area, looking out for safety, and adherence to GMPs, and communicates and delegates tasks to team members per Supervisor’s instructions.
Responsible for the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the companies’ quality systems, processes, and procedures.
Assemble/Disassemble machines for use or changeovers.
Interacts with maintenance on production equipment to troubleshoot or discuss preventative maintenance to prevent production downtime.
Must be able to read, understand, and adhere to daily production packaging schedule.
Must be able to read and understand product specifications established by Shine Foods and recognize deviations from those specifications.
Must be able to ensure proper printing of lot and/or case coding is being followed.
Performs clean-up activities as assigned.
May be assigned other duties by plant management as required.
Food Safety Responsibilities
All employees are required to immediately report and assist in the elimination or control of any food safety issues they observe to their supervisor
Monitors and enforces cGMPs
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices and Pre-requisite programs
Language Requirement
Ability to understand written and oral direction in English and/or Spanish.
Physical Requirement
Occasionally carry and/or lift 50 Lbs.
Must have the ability to routinely and frequently stand, stoop, bend, climb, fill raw material into machine.
Must be able to work in a loud environment.
Ability to walk through production areas.
Exposure to temperature change.
Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
Schedule
1st shift (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
Occasionally be available to work on weekends
