Overview

Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Permanent Full Time Warehouse Sit Down Forklift Operator in Wilmington, Illinois. This is a warehouse forklift operator/driver role with weekly pay up to $28.50 per hour (including shift differentials and productivity incentives).
Compensation and Schedule
Base pay: $18.50 per hour
Overtime Pay: $27.75 per hour
Additional Pay: $0.25 per hour increases at 90 and 180 days and 3% increase after 1 year
Shift Differentials: Up to $4 per hour depending on shift
Productivity Incentives: Up to $6 per hour
Sign-on bonus: $1,000 paid in two installments at 30 and 90 days
Schedules: A – Sun-Tues 5:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. and Wed 5:00 a.m.–10:45 a.m.; B – Sun–Tues 5:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m. and Wed 5:00 p.m.–10:45 p.m.; C – Wed 11:00 a.m.–4:45 p.m. and Thur–Sat 5:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; D – Wed 11:00 p.m.–4:45 a.m. and Thur–Sat 5:00 p.m.–4:30 a.m.

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
One year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
Valid forklift operator’s license/certification
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work in a diverse environment
Ability to build professional relationships with peers, teams, customers, and supervisors
Highly thorough and dependable; punctual with good attendance
Performs work independently with minimal supervision; demonstrates initiative and accuracy under pressure
Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs
Ability to stand for long periods and work using health and safety methods
Flexible schedule across various shifts; detail-oriented with excellent follow-up
Responsibilities
Perform warehouse functions: loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
Work within contract performance measurement guidelines
Accurate picking and packing, auditing, tote induction, staging, and loading/unloading trucks
Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading)
Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during production
Perform duties as assigned
