1st Shift Tunnel – 5:00 am–1:30 pm
Overview
Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility, responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and out of the facility.
Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Prepares their work station.
Transfers hangers from hanger rack to shirt or pant hanging aid.
Flips shirts onto hanger aid, removes shirts from tub or table, dresses shirt on hanger, and pulls sleeves out if needed.
Works with pants by removing pant from tub or table, grasping the zipper end, applying a brisk shake, laying pant on hanger aid, advancing hanger to the slotted area, and removing pant from the hanger aid.
Identifies merchandise requiring repair that does not meet quality standards, applying a twist tie to the hanger of items needing repair.
Ensures garment is placed on an open conveyor pick.
Maintains a safe and clean work environment, observing best practices in all production activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
Working knowledge of basic math skills.
Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to meet attendance schedule.
Working Environment / Safety Requirements
Work performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise.
Work based on a shift schedule, may include weekends.
Overtime required as needed.
Physical Requirements
Position involves repetitive motions over the duration of an entire shift.
Requires bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, and lifting.
Requires use of hands for grasping and other manipulations.
Requires standing and walking for long periods.
Education
High school degree or equivalent preferred.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $19.30, dependent on circumstances including applicant skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
Benefits
Comprehensive benefit programs include medical, dental, vision, and pension. Employees receive 40 total vacation hours per year, 48 floating holiday hours per year, 40 hours of paid sick time per year, 7 paid holidays per year, plus birthday leave.
