Senior Data Engineer – Palantir Foundry
Will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling enterprise data products and operational workflows using Palantir Foundry as part of Acosta’s connected data initiative. The role serves as a senior individual contributor, translating complex business processes into governed, production‑grade data pipelines, ontologies, and applications that enable analytics, automation, and decision support across the organization.
Responsibilities
Data Pipeline & Product Engineering
Design, build, and maintain end‑to‑end data pipelines within Palantir Foundry, from raw data ingestion through curated and production‑ready datasets.
Develop scalable, reusable data transformations that support enterprise analytics and operational workflows.
Ensure data pipelines meet performance, reliability, and quality standards in production environments.
Ontology & Data Modeling
Design and maintain Foundry ontologies that model business domains, data relationships, and operational concepts.
Ensure data models promote consistency, reusability, and usability across analytics and application teams.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into governed data structures.
Governance, Quality & Reliability
Embed data governance, lineage, access controls, and compliance standards into all data products.
Implement monitoring, testing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
Support production operations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of data pipelines.
Engineering Practices & Standards
Apply strong software engineering practices, including version control, testing, documentation, and deployment.
Contribute to shared patterns, frameworks, and standards across the data engineering organization.
Provide technical guidance and peer support within the data engineering team.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Partnership
Work closely with analytics, AI, and business teams to deliver data products that support decision‑making and automation.
Communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical partners.
Balance delivery speed with scalability, maintainability, and governance requirements.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
4 or more years of experience in data engineering or software engineering roles delivering production‑grade data pipelines.
Hands‑on experience working within Palantir Foundry or similar enterprise data platforms.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with distributed processing frameworks such as Spark or PySpark preferred.
Experience designing data models and supporting analytics or operational data products.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and enterprise data architecture principles.
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing ontology‑driven data models or semantic layers.
Experience supporting large‑scale, enterprise data environments.
Familiarity with cloud‑based data platforms and modern data engineering tools.
Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.
