We’re seeking a Transport Administrator & Assistant Planner who will work with our other transport planners and report to the transport manager.
Based at our Head Office, GL2 7PD

Monday – Friday, 8am-5pm

Role Summary
Providing essential office support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Helping support the team with planning and coordination of transport operations. Scheduling, route planning, and ensuring efficient and compliant transport services. Managing records, handling communications, and assisting staff with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities for admin
Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence
Maintain and update filing systems (digital and paper)
Schedule meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements
Prepare documents, reports, and presentations
Support data entry and database management
Order office supplies and liaise with vendors
Assist with financial admin tasks (e.g., invoicing, expense tracking)
Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies
Key Responsibilities for transport planning
Assist in planning transport routes and schedules to optimise efficiency
Monitor vehicle movements and respond to delays or issues
Communicate with drivers, clients, and internal teams
Maintain transport records, logs, and compliance documentation
Support fleet management, including maintenance scheduling
Analyse transport data to improve performance and reduce costs
Ensure adherence to transport regulations and health & safety standards
Provide administrative support to the transport planning team
Skills and Qualifications
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) as well as transport management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication
Attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good geographical knowledge and route planning ability
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesInterest or experience in logistics, transport, or supply chain preferred
Previous administrative experience preferred
