Full‑Time Special Needs Nanny (Tuscaloosa, AL)
We are a warm and professional family seeking a qualified and compassionate caregiver to provide dedicated, one‑on‑one support for our young son who will turn 2 in June. He has cerebral palsy and will benefit from attentive daytime care in a nurturing environment.

Schedule: Full‑time 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (45 hours guaranteed). Compensation: $28–$32 per hour. Start date: ASAP. Commitment: Long‑term.

About the child: He is cognitively age‑appropriate, curious, and engaging, but experiences physical challenges related to cerebral palsy. He is making great progress with mobility and currently uses a gait trainer and walker. He attends PT, OT, and speech therapy and would benefit from a caregiver who can help reinforce these developmental goals at home.

Responsibilities

Provide attentive, hands‑on care for a toddler with special needs.

Assist with mobility, including use of a gait trainer and walker.

Safely lift and transfer the child (approximately 25 lbs).

Transport to and from therapy appointments (PT, OT, speech).

Reinforce therapy exercises and developmental goals.

Engage in age‑appropriate, early‑education focused activities.

Maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Ability to provide 3–5 professional references.

CPR certification required.

Experience working with children with cerebral palsy strongly preferred.

Background or credentials in occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT), speech therapy, and/or special needs care highly preferred.
