About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center HVAC Technician to serve as the mechanical subject matter expert for critical cooling and refrigeration systems within a mission‑critical data center environment. This role is responsible for the safe operation, preventive maintenance, corrective repair, modification, and installation of mechanical systems that protect uptime, equipment reliability, and environmental stability.
Shifts
2nd Shift: Wednesday – Saturday, 2 pm – 12 am.
What You Do Daily
Operate, inspect, maintain, repair, and modify critical cooling and refrigeration systems across the data center environment.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor corrective adjustments on HVAC and mechanical systems in accordance with site standards and manufacturer requirements.
Diagnose mechanical failures and perform corrective repairs to restore safe, stable cooling performance.
Support mechanical upgrades, installations, and approved infrastructure changes while ensuring proper integration with existing systems.
Monitor equipment condition, mechanical performance, and environmental trends to identify developing risks or degradation early.
Provide technical oversight and coordination during vendor‑performed maintenance and mechanical service activities.
Document maintenance activities, equipment condition, and technical findings with accuracy and discipline.
Maintain readiness of HVAC tools, commonly used spare parts, and mechanical work areas to support safe and effective execution.
Provide mechanical technical support during incidents, audits, maintenance windows, and cross‑functional activities within authorized scope.
What Makes You a Good Fit
Strong hands‑on experience with HVAC, refrigeration, and mechanical systems in data centers, industrial facilities, hospitals, or other critical environments.
Deep understanding of cooling systems, airflow, refrigeration circuits, mechanical controls, and environmental performance.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and safely in a live critical environment.
Strong working knowledge of refrigerant handling, lockout/tagout, PPE, and mechanical safety practices.
Experience supporting maintenance execution, vendor coordination, and return‑to‑service validation.
Attention to detail in documentation, equipment condition reporting, and safe work execution.

Qualifications
HVAC certification, refrigeration certification, or equivalent trade qualification required.
5+ years of experience working with HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical systems in mission‑critical, industrial, or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, valves, cooling towers, compressors, and associated controls.
Experience with preventive maintenance, corrective repair, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Familiarity with refrigerant handling requirements, environmental regulations, and mechanical safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Experience supporting critical operations, maintenance execution, and incident response.
