Product Line Specialist FOC

Role Purpose
The Product Line Specialist (PLS) is a critical member of the FOC product line and executes a strategy that supports the product line’s NAFTA sales growth and profitability targets. The PLS leads cross functional initiatives across production, supply chain, technology, and engineering in alignment with the product line strategy, while also managing day-to-day activities to deliver against financial, operational, and customer satisfaction objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Customer and Market Understanding

Work with Value Creation and Network Architecture teams to identify opportunities for new product applications through competitive and market assessments

Support customer engagements representing the product line as the VOC expert

Identify product line enhancements or product positioning by leveraging competitive insights

Strategic Planning

Work with the Product Line Manager (PLM) and Product Team members to execute product life-cycle management strategy

Work with the PLM to contribute to the development of both long- and short-term business strategies to maximize profitability and achieve growth

Develop & Launch Products

Support new product development from early-stage justification to commercialization

Lead product launch activities including all internal commercialization activities and any external engagements

Support the Product Team in New Product Development initiatives to ensure market timing, cost, and prioritization are maintained

Support the early stages of new product development

Support product line engineering activities required to meet new market opportunities for growth or cost reduction

Manage the Product Portfolio

Assist in product lifecycle management activities

Lead the execution of product line pricing strategy, setting base, floor, contract, project, and day-to-day pricing

Lead the resolution of product, quality, and service issues for a quick customer resolution, balancing the needs of Corning and the customer

Maintain close alignment with Supply Chain and manufacturing teams to ensure demand and supply are aligned with forecast

Identify opportunities to reduce complexity and cost in the manufacturing process both at Corning’s plants and at the customer site

Education and Experience: Required

Bachelor's Degree (Engineering or Business preferred)

Minimum 3 years of business experience (product line management, engineering, manufacturing or commercial/marketing are preferred)

Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred), Excel and Microsoft Power BI

Experience working cross functionally and ability to interface with both Design (Technology) and Manufacturing Engineering teams, to lead and influence product technical characteristics

Demonstrate entrepreneurship with ability to formulate visions/strategies and predict trends

Possess strong analytical skills coupled with understanding of financial statements.

Ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and persuasively in verbal and written formats

Salary Range
The range for this position is $100,646.00 – $138,388.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
