eCommerce Onsite Search Intern – Fall 2026
As an intern, you’ll design an experience that meets your learning objectives while exploring how our business areas interconnect. You’ll work on day‑to‑day assignments, cross‑functional meetings, exposure to executive leadership, and soft‑skill development.
Imperial Supplies has grown double‑digit annually and is based in Green Bay. Under general supervision, the Onsite Search Intern will audit, analyze, and optimize site search for our website, aiming to deliver relevant results, improve the customer search experience, and increase conversion and digital profitability.
Paid internship during Fall 2026
Duration: 12 weeks, up to 20 hours per week based on student interest and availability
Willing to provide supporting documentation for students seeking school credit
Establish understanding of Site Search Relevancy
Gain understanding of keyword research and optimization for site search
Identify top search terms for the business
Understand the difference between Search and Non‑Search customers
Understand the connection between merchandising, product setup, and site search
Internship Requirements
Recently graduated or currently enrolled in a 2‑ or 4‑year accredited college in a relevant field
Exposure to eCommerce, digital marketing, or digital merchandising with an understanding of site search experience
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work effectively and independently while building relationships
Good organization and planning skills
Comfortable learning new applications and software
Strong research and analytical thinking skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
Understanding of Google Analytics and how to run and read reports
Day to Day Responsibilities
Review and optimize search terms on the Imperial Supplies website
Oversee top search terms, high search exit terms, high search refinement terms, and low conversion terms
Analyze competitive site search experiences to stay current with eCommerce, search, and industry features
Research and analyze search terms for assigned categories
Provide before/after GA reporting follow‑ups to ensure updates are effective
Work on redirect setup as needed
Audit left navigation opportunities for search terms and communicate findings to improve facets/filters
Perform other duties as assigned
