Summary of Role
The Distribution Center Operator will operate material handling equipment, assemble orders to customer specifications, load and unload trucks for shipping and receiving, and enter information in the Warehouse Management System. This safety-sensitive position involves movement of trailers within the yard and operates 365 days a year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare orders by processing requests, following directive work through the WMS, and assembling orders for outgoing shipments.

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by keeping pick lanes, pallet area, dock floor, and shipping/receiving office free of debris and clutter.

Assist in daily tasks to plan, coordinate, manage time, conduct inventory, record data, and maintain equipment.

Load and unload trucks, receive materials and products, pick, pack, wrap, label, and ship products.

Maintain shipping and receiving paperwork to ensure incoming and outgoing products and materials are in good condition.

Assist in controlling costs by ensuring products are stored safely, counted, and delivered by DC standards.

Assist in preparing for company audits and follow Good Manufacturing Practices to meet standards and guidelines.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Perform daily material handling equipment inspections, document deficiencies, and inform maintenance of any issues.

Place damaged and leaking product in the appropriate area.

Select samples for Quality Assurance as directed.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High school diploma or GED required.

Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds regularly, occasionally 100 pounds with assistance.

Ability to push/pull objects up to 2,500 pounds using equipment.

Perform physical work in a variety of positions and at various heights, including bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, walking, standing for extended periods.

Tolerate a variety of temperatures.

Follow written and/or verbal instructions; work effectively and meet deadlines.

Ability to multitask, accurately enter data, and be detail oriented.

Work holidays, nights, weekends as scheduled or requested.

Basic math (arithmetic) and basic computer skills preferred.

Strong work ethic and good attendance record.

Maintain forklift operator certificate and operate material handling equipment.

Basic knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

Ability to handle stress in a service-oriented environment.

Work independently and within a team.

Prior experience moving trailers preferred.

Base Salary
Base hourly wage: $19.43 – $23.55 per hour. Typical hourly wage for a new hire with little or no experience is $20.00.

Shift premium: $2.00/hour between 6 pm and 12 am; $3.00/hour between 12 am and 6 am; additional $2.00/hour on Saturdays and Sundays.

Compensation may include discretionary bonuses and incentive compensation opportunities.
