SUMMARY
The Bartender is responsible for crafting and serving a wide variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, and wine. This role involves providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring a positive guest experience. The Bartender takes orders, mixes and serves drinks, handles cash and card transactions, and monitors inventory levels. Strong knowledge of drink recipes, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment are crucial.
SHIFT
Open availability to work any 8‑hour period between 3 AM and closing (typically between 10 PM and midnight)
AM: 3 AM – 11 AM
PM: 12 PM to closing
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Greet guests and take beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner.
Mix, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks according to recipes and guest specifications.
Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including washing glassware and bar tools.
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately, including opening and closing tabs.
Monitor guest behavior and manage alcohol consumption to ensure guest safety.
Provide recommendations on drink selections and upsell additional products when appropriate.
Prepare garnishes, rim glasses, and ensure the bar is stocked with the necessary supplies.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations and safety standards.
Maintain knowledge of the restaurant's menu and specials to answer guest questions and provide recommendations.
Handle guest complaints or concerns in a courteous and professional manner, escalating to management when necessary.
Coordinate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages.
Conduct regular inventory checks and inform management of any shortages or needed supplies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or equivalent
Must be a minimum of 21 years old
Current Tenesney ABC permit is highly preferred. Willingness to obtain one upon hire is required.
1+ years of experience as a bartender in a full‑service restaurant
Formal bartending training a plus
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Airport:
This position operates in a climate‑controlled international airport environment. The temperature, volume of noise, and exposure to the public is outside the control of First Meridian Services, Inc. The position requires use of public spaces as provided by the airport.
Restaurant:
This position may require frequent exposure to a restaurant or retail operation environment. Regular exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold/freezing), fumes, vapors, industrial restaurant equipment, noise, and guests will be a common occurrence.
