Data Technician

to join our Air Force / Space team at

Eglin AFB .

The Data Tech's primary function is to support the United States Air Force’s 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract.

Responsibilities

Data collection (to include real‑time, post, and truth data), data pre‑processing (cutting data), data reduction, data archiving, and meeting data deliverables.

Responsible for aircraft media inventory, media formatting and ensuring media availability for flight operations.

Ingest, catalog, and perform validation of flight data.

Set up and perform Aircrew Mission Debriefs with Pilots, Intel, and Analysts.

Write customized procedures and user guidance to support specific Data Tech tasks.

Perform setup and teardown of essential systems for deployment/temporary duty.

Perform other hardware and software tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university. Two additional years of experience may be substituted for a degree.

2+ years of direct or related experience.

Understanding of general aviation procedures and regulations.

Understanding of Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) regulations and operating procedures.

Ability to organize and compile data as needed.

Ability to occasionally travel away from the normal duty location, including deployments CONUS and OCONUS.

Ability to travel on military and commercial aircraft.

Ability to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, shift work, and/or overtime to support mission requirements.

Background in Avionics.

Security Clearance

Must have a current and active Secret Clearance.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD TS/SCI‑eligible clearance (i.e., DCID 6/4 eligibility).

Willingness to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers via email, phone, and/or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
