WAGE:
Compensation is determined by a structured salary schedule. The starting salary is based on the candidate’s degree level and verified years of licensed or certificated experience.
DIRECT SUPERVISOR:
Chief Area Instructional Leader (Quadrant)
GRPS MISSION:
Our mission is to ensure that all scholars are educated, self‑directed and productive members of society.
NOTE:
This is a grant‑funded, non‑tenured position. Continued employment under the terms of this grant is continued upon continued funding.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the English Learner (EL) Executive Director, the EL Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted academic second‑language and grade‑level supports to eligible EL scholars in all core content areas at GRPS.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
ESL/Bilingual Spanish endorsement or Master’s in TESOL
Preferred:
Valid Michigan teacher’s certificate
SIOP Training
Essential Job Functions
Provide and deliver academic support services to eligible EL scholars
Manage and maintain accurate scholar records
Visit with identified scholars to identify suitable options and help resolve problems
Develop a positive relationship with scholars and school community and maintain constructive relationships with staff, scholars, and administration
Interact with co‑workers, administration, and scholars in cooperative, supportive, and positive ways
Participate in district‑led EL professional development (WIDA/SIOP)
Other duties as assigned
Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
Perform other duties as assigned
