NDT Level III Quality Assurance Inspector
This position is that of NDT Level III Inspector. Q.E.D. Systems Incorporated accomplishes repairs, installations, and alterations to ships and crafts in a maritime environment. Apart from nuclear power plants, all systems and equipment aboard ships and marine craft are included.
Duties and Responsibilities
ASNT Recommended Practice SNT-TC-1A 2020 Edition – Personnel Qualification and Certification
NACSAE T9074-AS-GIB-010/271 Revision 1 – Requirements for Non-destructive Testing
NAVSEA 0900-LP-001-7000 Change-1 – Fabrication and Inspection of Brazed Piping Systems
Act as certifying authority for all levels of NDT certification
Personnel training examination and certification
Administration and grading examinations for NDT Level II or other NDT Level III personnel
Developing, qualifying, and approving procedures; establishing and approving techniques
Interpreting codes, standards, specifications, and procedures
Designating the specific NDT methods, techniques, and procedures to be used
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise and direct production efforts and, if necessary, repairs of items being prepared for Q.E.D. projects regarding NDT requirements and Quality Assurance criteria. The NDT Inspectors/Quality Assurance Inspectors report to the division’s Quality Assurance Manager.
Qualifications
Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science plus one additional year of experience beyond the Level II requirements in NDT in an assignment comparable to that of an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT methods.
Have completed, with passing grades, at least two years of engineering or science study at a university, college, or technical school, plus two additional years of experience beyond the NDT Level II requirements in an assignment at least comparable to that of NDT Level II in the applicable NDT methods.
Have four years’ experience beyond the NDT Level II requirements in NDT in an assignment at least comparable to that of an NDT Level II in the applicable NDT method(s).
Security Clearance/Naval Facility Access
U.S. citizenship required. Must be able to meet and maintain eligibility for U.S. Secret Clearance and/or be able to access military facilities, naval shipyards, and private shipyards.
