Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Physical Lab Technician is to take care of our customers. Tasks include, but are not limited to the procurement of samples, dimensional and mechanical testing, operation, and maintenance of equipment, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data for the certification of material. Safety is an important part of jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards to always make safety and quality a priority.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts as well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Willing/able to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of steel industry, steel grades, and quality systems.
Prior Physical Lab testing experience
