Job Overview
In MedSurg 8 Quarterback at Main Campus Quarterback Tower.
Work schedule will be Full‑time on the Evening Night Shift, 3 12‑Hour Shifts.

Responsibilities
The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, is responsible for providing nursing care to patients. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessments of the patient. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care of patients/caregivers.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Current RN license in the State of Alabama.

Current BLS certification.

Equivalents

Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications: Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State, Registered Nurse Non‑AL NLC Multi State.

Basic Life Support.

Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing.

Children’s of Alabama’s pediatric Hematology/Oncology department proudly serves a diversity of patient populations throughout the Southeast. Patients range from birth through adolescence with various hematologic and oncologic disorders. The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit is a 24‑bed unit located in the Quarterback Tower of the Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children in Birmingham, Alabama. The unit is known for innovation, teamwork, commitment, compassion, and clinical excellence. It offers a comprehensive orientation program, continuing education, mentoring, and preceptorships for nurses.
