We are seeking a dedicated
Wastewater Plant Operator I
to perform moderately complex plant operations and maintenance of equipment.
Location: 78541
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain essential equipment at the wastewater plant.
Troubleshoot issues, take wastewater samples and tests, and document results.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant building and grounds.
Assist in wastewater treatment operations, lab operations, and recording of results; provide support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Qualifications
Required Education:
High school diploma, GED or equivalency
Education Preference:
Certification in Wastewater from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ); Preferred Class "B" Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
Educational Substitute:
May substitute two years of experience with TCEQ approved education
Required Work Experience:
No experience required
Experience Preference:
One (1) year of wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance and repairs
Licenses:
Current valid class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety; TCEQ Class "D" Wastewater Operator's License within 1 year; TCEQ Class "C" Wastewater Operator's License within 3 years; TCEQ Class "B" Wastewater Operator's License within 5 years
