Job Summary
The X-Ray Technician (Radiologic Technologist) is responsible for operating radiologic imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images. The role involves preparing patients for procedures, ensuring safety standards are strictly followed, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Establish rapport with patients to understand service needs and ensure a comfortable experience
Explain procedures, address patient concerns, and reduce anxiety
Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures accurately
Operate radiologic equipment and adjust exposure factors for optimal imaging
Apply radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff
Follow infection control policies and maintain a sterile environment
Review and ensure the quality of radiographs; make necessary adjustments
Document procedures and patient interactions accurately in medical records
Maintain and troubleshoot radiology equipment; coordinate repairs when needed
Monitor and manage radiology supply inventory
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and workplace cleanliness
Stay updated with professional knowledge through CME, workshops, and publications
Collaborate with team members and support departmental goals
Complete annual competency assessments
Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
Education
Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology
Licensing & Certifications
New York State License (L.R.T)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) Certification
Experience
0–2 years of experience (2 years recent X-ray experience preferred)
Experience with X-ray + EOS imaging systems
Familiarity with Carestream software and Epic EMR preferred
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Dependability and strong organizational skills
Commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant work environment
Compensation
Traveler Pay:
$2,412.50 per week (including $1,700 stipend)
Local Pay:
$55 – $57 per hour
