JR03663Compensation Amount:Job Summary:The Banquets & Events Lead supports the successful execution of banquets and events by leading event setup and breakdown, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation, and providing guest-facing service as needed. This role works closely with the Banquets & Events Manager and event staff to ensure spaces are guest-ready, events run smoothly, and Food & Beverage areas reflect a professional, and welcoming environment.
This is a year-round position. During slower banquet seasons, this role will assist in other Food & Beverage operations.Job Description:**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS*** Lead and assist with the setup and breakdown of banquet and event spaces including tables, chairs, linens, décor, and select audio/visual equipment as directed.* Ensure event spaces are set according to event orders and standards, inspecting areas before, during and after events for accuracy, cleanliness, and professionalism.* Provide guest-facing service at banquets and events as needed, assisting with food and beverage service, guest requests, and overall event flow.* Support banquet services, bartenders, bussers, and other staff during events by helping assign tasks and adjusting support based on event needs.* Maintain clean, orderly, and attractive banquet, event, and assigned public areas.* Deliver supplies and assist with organization, storage, and seasonal relocation of banquet and Food & Beverage items.* Assist in training team members on setup standards, cleanliness expectations, safe equipment handling, and service support.* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless execution of events and daily operations.* Assist management with basic inventory functions as needed.* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times and report safety concerns promptly.* Perform other duties as assigned by management.**SKILLS AND KNOWEDGE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE*** High school diploma/G.E.D. equivalent required.* TIPS Certification or ability to obtain and maintain, required.* At least two years’ experience in catering, banquets or food and beverage, preferred.* General knowledge of industry standards regarding sanitation.* Speech recognition and clarity, including the ability to understand the speech of guests and coworkers and the ability to speak clearly so that you can be understood by guests and coworkers in English.* Excellent organizational skills, able to perform under time constraints and deadlines with attention to detail.
Ability to problem-solve and act as a team leader.* Ability to interact with a wide variety of people, including guests and coworkers.* Valid driver’s license preferred to travel between facility locations.* Computer proficiency with the ability to use common business software applications such as Microsoft Office.* Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system, including ability to consistently handle monetary transactions.**PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS*** Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the unit.
Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.* Lifting, carrying and pushing up to twenty-five (25) pounds regularly, thirty (30) to thirty-five (35) pounds frequently, and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.* Ability to stand for the entire workday and climb stairs regularly.* Withstanding temperature extremes in indoor and outdoor environments.* Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays according to department needs.* Physical presence at the job site is essential to perform job duties.**EQUIPMENT USED*** Typical office equipment (computers, phone system, copier, scanner, fax)* Point-of Sale (POS) system**We’re looking for a Banquets & Events Lead who takes pride in creating clean, well-organized, and welcoming event spaces.
