Program Director

for Sutter Medical Center Sacramento Children’s Center pediatric residency program.
Responsibilities

Direct all operations of the Sutter Health Pediatrics Residency Program and clinical patient care provided by residents and faculty.
Develop and lead strategic plans for high-quality resident recruitment, training, and retention.
Provide residents with superb training experience while meeting ABP, ACGME, and Sutter Health institutional standards.
Oversee comprehensive pediatric clinical opportunities in a highly collaborative, quality focused, integrated health system.
Qualifications

Board certification in pediatrics and/or pediatric subspecialty.
Documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME Pediatrics Review Committee.
Actively involved in clinical care of patients.
Knowledge of health care delivery and administration, as well as legal and ethical issues related to health care.
Ability to work with a team approach to management. Ability to work as a member of a team to solicit input from other affected departments or individuals, communicate pertinent information to other team members, and support team decisions.
Ability to be persuasive and diplomatic in encouraging teamwork and cooperation in the pursuit of excellence in service.
Ability to communicate effectively and exercise sound and responsible judgment.
Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal. Ability to establish constructive working relationships with all levels of management and employees in a staff of varied and diverse backgrounds.
Ability to handle difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
Ability to supervise others and delegate effectively.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to effectively represent the program's interests in the community; maintaining effective working relationships among public, private, and professional groups.
Certificates, Licences, Registrations

Current California medical license and Board Certification in Pediatrics.
As required for appropriate clinical privileges.
Compensation

Program Director Compensation: $175/hour for 1043 hours/year = $182,525.
This position includes 0.5 FTE dedicated time to serve as Program Director for our Pediatric Residency Program as well as negotiable clinical FTE (0.25-0.5).

Medical Center

Within our Children’s Center residents will provide care for a diverse and medically complex pediatric population within a 40-bed general pediatric unit located in a tertiary care children's center.
The center also includes:
20-bed CVICU/PICU
Northern California's largest NICU
Robust newborn nursery service
Dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department
Physicians work closely with a comprehensive complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, supported by a multidisciplinary team including social work, integrative medicine, pediatric pharmacy, and other pediatric-focused services.
