Senior Project Manager – Binghamton, New York
The role involves leading high‑complexity utility projects, overseeing all project phases, and serving as the primary liaison between contractors and the client.
Responsibilities
Initiate, plan, execute, and close projects – define the project WBS, cost baseline, and OBS; develop the comprehensive work plan; manage risks, scope, schedule, and budget.
Manage teams – facilitate commitment and productivity, remove obstacles, and lead cross‑functional teams.
Implement and manage quality and environmental processes and procedures on all projects, targeting SPI and CPI performance indicators below 1.0.
Oversee third‑party projects, including other transmission customers and interconnecting customers.
Accountable for:
Cost / Budgeting and Management
Communication Management
Change Management
Schedule Management
Construction Management Oversight
Commissioning Management Oversight
Risk Management
Regulatory and Stakeholder Management
Serve as the main point of contact between contractors and the client on all project matters.
Monitor and measure project performance throughout the project and resolve any contract disputes related to cost, scope, and schedule.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (required).
10+ years of large‑scale project or program management experience in the utility sector.
Professional Engineer license and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and overall project management software.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Position reports to the office daily.
Pay Range
$118,000 – $130,000 annually.
