Job Summary
The Tireman is responsible for repairing and replacing tires on all light and heavy‑duty equipment and machinery both in the field and shop. This position performs routine and scheduled inspections and maintenance activities of tires and related tire equipment, and assists mechanics and expediters with tasks as needed.
Essential Duties
Mount, dis‑mount, rotate, and repair tires on equipment and machinery.
Change flat tires in the field on light and heavy‑duty equipment and vehicles.
Unload and load tires and related items as required.
Operate jacks to lift and position vehicles for tire repair.
Operate tire truck, 32K GVWR with tire clamp boom.
Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on light and heavy‑duty vehicles.
Track and maintain tire inventory.
Maintain records, logs, and schedules of all requests and work orders using Fleet Focus.
Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.
Assist light and heavy‑duty mechanics during repairs and maintenance activities.
Comply with company and customer policies and procedures.
Support zero‑incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience
Authorized to work in the U.S.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid Class B CDL (U.S. issued, Alaska‑compliant).
Current DOT Medical Card.
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.
Ability to work 84 hours a week on a 3×3 rotation.
At least three (3) years of experience changing heavy‑duty tires.
Preferred Experience
Three (3) or more years of experience as a Tireman in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environments.
