Position Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable and strategic

Director of Public Policy

to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a versatile policy professional with broad‑based expertise, contributing to long‑range business priorities and translating policy developments into actionable initiatives. The Director will apply a

digital‑first mindset , using AI‑enabled tools to enhance policy monitoring, accelerate analysis, and improve workflow efficiency.

Skills and Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the VP of Public Policy to analyze and influence policy through execution of the corporate public policy strategy.

Monitor and identify potential opportunities and risks in policy proposals and market trends, leveraging AI-enabled policy monitoring tools, data analytics platforms, and digital research workflows.

Translate policy activities into actionable and measurable initiatives that support the company’s business objectives.

Triage and prioritize policy activities through collaboration, coordination, and communication with Federal and State Government Affairs teams.

Develop

effective communications of public policy implications for senior business leaders and internal networks, generating communications tailored to different audiences

without considerable direction.

Support

the development of regulatory and policy comment letters to government agencies and Congress in consultation with internal subject matter experts and external stakeholders.

Manage

public policy advocacy engagement strategy to maintain and bolster company relationships and partnerships with external policy influencers (e.g., trade associations, key customer policy experts, patient groups, provider organizations, think tanks).

Strengthen

targeted issue specific relationships

across the company to ensure a deep knowledge of each business and alignment of public policy and business objectives.

Manage internal policy workgroups comprised of senior business leaders.

Support

company participation in the policy and regulatory activities of trade associations and coalitions, working with federal, state, and communication teams.

Develop

white papers, testimony, and other advocacy materials for sophisticated policy audiences

without considerable direction.

Create, bolster, and maintain

public policy resources, such as the public policy position database and public policy intranet site, to ensure consistent and effective communication of our policy strategy, issue positions, and advocacy engagements across the Public Affairs team and company leaders, including the use of AI‑supported search, tagging, and knowledge‑management capabilities to increase accessibility and usability.

Qualifications

A minimum of seven years of relevant healthcare public policy experience evidenced by both legislative and policy outcomes, preferably within the healthcare industry, including HHS and subagencies.

Experience in healthcare drug pricing, reimbursement, and/or health data, digital, or technology policy preferred.

Proven ability to work independently and manage complex projects.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience collaborating with senior leaders and executives in a matrixed organization.

Ability to develop and implement strategic public policy initiatives.

Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes.

Familiarity with AI-enabled research, productivity, or workflow tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) preferred.

Demonstrated ability to adopt new digital tools and incorporate them into daily policy workflows.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Public Health, Law, Political Science, or related field (Advanced degree preferred)

Minimum Education & Typical Experience

Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience

Must be authorized to work in the US. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation
Our Base Pay Range for this position: $127,800 - $213,000.
