About the Role

Turn/River Capital is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our growing internal technology team. This role will focus on designing, implementing, and maintaining the firm’s internal technology infrastructure and SaaS ecosystem, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support our team and operations.
Reporting to the Head of IT and working closely with the broader IT team, this engineer will contribute to the architecture, automation, and integration of enterprise systems across cloud platforms, endpoint management tools, and collaboration technologies.
This position requires a strong foundation in computer science, systems engineering, and modern IT infrastructure, with opportunities to build automation, improve operational workflows, and enhance the reliability and security of our internal technology stack.
Key Responsibilities

Systems Engineering & Infrastructure

Design, implement, and maintain internal IT systems supporting Windows, macOS, and mobile device environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across endpoints and enterprise platforms.

Configure and maintain integrations across the firm’s SaaS ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Dropbox, ensuring efficient authentication, identity management, and secure collaboration.

Assist in the architecture, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN, wireless networks, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.

Support the implementation and management of identity and access management systems, including SSO, MFA, and directory integrations.

Automation & Systems Integration

Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflow tools to streamline IT operations, system provisioning, and endpoint lifecycle management.

Support integration across enterprise platforms and APIs to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.

Contribute to the design and improvement of internal IT workflows through scripting, system integrations, and automation tools.

Administer enterprise communication and collaboration platforms including VoIP systems and audio/video conferencing infrastructure to ensure reliable internal operations.

Monitor system health across internal platforms, including storage infrastructure, SaaS applications, and endpoint environments.

Participate in scheduled infrastructure maintenance including system upgrades, patching, and platform improvements.

Support operational readiness through incident response and root-cause analysis of technical issues affecting internal systems.

Assist in maintaining the firm’s security posture across endpoints and SaaS platforms, including device management, access controls, and data protection policies.

Collaborate with the Head of IT on implementing and maintaining security frameworks, endpoint detection tools, and compliance practices.

Support system audits, configuration reviews, and monitoring activities related to enterprise security.

Documentation & Operational Excellence

Maintain technical documentation related to system architecture, operational procedures, and platform integrations.

Contribute to the development of internal knowledge resources and operational playbooks that improve system reliability and organizational efficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent technical experience.

2+ years of experience working with enterprise IT infrastructure, systems administration, or technical engineering environments.

Experience administering cloud productivity platforms such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Slack, and Dropbox.

Experience working with endpoint management platforms (Jamf, Intune, Mosyle, or similar) across macOS and Windows environments.

Experience working with network infrastructure concepts, including LAN, wireless networks, routing, switching, and firewall technologies.

Familiarity with automation, scripting, or API integrations used to improve IT operational workflows.

Understanding of identity and security frameworks, including MFA, SSO, endpoint protection tools, and enterprise security practices.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve system-level issues.

High degree of ownership, curiosity, and motivation to improve systems and processes.

Location

This role is based in San Francisco - hybrid work model
Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000, taking into account numerous variable factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational requirements.
