
Cyber Security Specialist

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB : The Cybersecurity Specialist’s purpose is to protect the organization’s digital assets, networks, and data from cyberattacks, theft, or damage. Plan, design, and implement processes and procedures for compliance with NIST, CMMC, and corporate security policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
Develop policies, plans, and procedures for compliance with NIST 800-171 and CMMC 2.0.
Train users and promote security awareness.
Provide updates and reports to management and executive staff.
Make recommendations for solutions, including hardware and software programs that can help mitigate risk.
Update and test disaster recovery procedures.
Plan and implement security measures, in coordination with the IT Department, to protect computer systems, networks, and data from loss and service interruptions.
Analyze and document security risks, breaches, and other cyber security incidents and the damage they cause.
Oversee the Incident Response Plan and make changes as necessary.
Work on requests from corporate headquarters as it relates to security measures and controls.
Mitigate threats by gathering information and developing plans, and monitor networks for security breaches.
Work with Crowdstrike Falcon Complete and associated SIEM for security issues and breaches.
Work with other departments on customer security compliance requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
EXPERIENCE : One to three years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
EDUCATION : Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER SKILLS
(Intermediate): Ability to navigate and use internet/intranet and other programs such as the MS Office package including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access, or company-wide cross‑functional Enterprise Resource Planning software. Must also be able to perform limited troubleshooting.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
(Basic): Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
(Intermediate): Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS : Standing, walking, sitting, and talking or hearing – under 1/3 of day. Lifting up to 10 lbs. and up to 25 lbs. – under 1/3 of day.
SALARY RANGE : The starting annual base pay for the role is between USD$95,000 and $110,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for variable bonus programs and benefits.
