Lockheed Martin is seeking a Software Quality Engineer for a position in Orlando, FL to develop and maintain systems and software quality engineering common processes that are aligned with AS9100 Quality Management System, program and customer requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
Develops, modifies, and applies quality principles to the development and use of software and software‑based systems for make and/or buy software products
Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives
Designs and implements software development and maintenance processes
Defines audit strategy to ensure compliance to systems/software processes
Designs, specifies, and conducts test methods for software inspection, verification, and validation
Evaluates and analyzes software quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
Ensures measures meet acceptable reliability standards
Performs software product reviews against contractual, technical and/or process requirements
Reviews requirement specifications, design documents, source code, test plans and procedures, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies
Performs or directs verification of software requirement allocations, traceability, and testability
Travel may be required to support program activities

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in STEM or higher (preferable in one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent combined education/experience
Ability to travel up to 10%
Experience with product development phases
Software quality or engineering experience in requirements analysis, design/development, product integration and test
Demonstrated ability to use causal analysis tools to analyze and resolve technical/process issues varying from basic to very complex
Desired Skills
Familiar with the Atlassian Suite of tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) and Gitlab
Familiar with automated test system platforms (NI TestStand, NI LabVIEW, SystemLink)
Basic understanding of electro‑mechanical engineering drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) with the ability to inspect drawings for compliance
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt)
Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration
Experience with presentation and problem‑solving skills
Experience with government customers
Strong knowledge of industry‑recognized quality systems/models such as Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), QMS System Audit (AS9100, ISO9001)
Experience with verification and validation processes
Different program phase experience (development, production, sustainment)
Corrective Action Board (process, command media, preventive action, root cause analysis)
SAP software and DELMIA Apriso
Handling and dispositioning nonconformances
Lab/test equipment hardware knowledge or background skills
Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Demonstrated basic understanding of audit techniques
Ability to interpret software design and code (C/C++) to verify implementation of requirements
Security Clearance Statement
This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration.
Clearance level: Secret with investigation or CV date within the past five years.
