Responsibilities
Days of the week: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, 10 hour flexible shifts (agreeable hours).
Lead and supervise department team members to ensure personal safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements to achieve company objectives. Engage and develop the asset care team members to deliver expected levels of reliability. As part of the maintenance leadership team, contribute to the MFI culture’s advancement. Direct responsibility for the maintenance team members and their performance.
Supervise maintenance or project contractors on site, ensuring human safety, food safety, and plant GMP requirements.
Maintain all maintenance team metrics and balance maintenance initiatives (tactical and strategic) with plant business strategies while on shift.
Assist planning and cost estimation for annual and longer-term capital and operating budgets to deliver to the business plan. Investigate the condition of buildings, equipment, and grounds and recommend improvements to meet business needs.
Utilize MFI approved CMMS to manage, document, and support maintenance reporting and decision making, guided by MFI ARM standards.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records (e.g., SAP data, Kronos, KPIs).
Work with planning and scheduling to utilize team personnel cost-effectively.
Adhere to established MFI standards for assessing the quality of work performed by employees and contractors.
Supervise completion of work through review of reports and frequent site inspections.
Recognize and take steps to resolve operating problems to minimize impact on the business.
Provide input for root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) to create an environment of continuous asset reliability improvement; champion the plant’s RCM and RCA process.
Create and foster a team environment that supports personal and professional development through opportunities in the MFI ARMED program.
Coordinate with corporate stakeholder groups to build and maintain programs and processes consistent with MFI standards.
Promote and foster Michael Foods culture, values, and principles.
Act as a role model by demonstrating safe work behaviors and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace; adhere to safety policies and incorporate safety and health in all tasks.
Adhere to quality work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions, and report any conditions or practices that may affect food safety and quality; ensure regulatory compliance.
Participate in acquiring talent within the maintenance organization, including interviewing, recruiting, and selecting for salaried and hourly team members; support recruiting events and talent pipelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field is preferred. An associate’s degree, two-year technical certificate, or a relevant combination of experience demonstrating technical and leadership aptitude is acceptable. Demonstrated leadership experience.
Minimum of 5 years of proven leadership or supervisory experience in industrial operations, maintenance, or utilities operations is preferred.
Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification preferred.
Understanding of PLC and equipment automation preferred.
Trained and competent in MFI MTL1, MTL2, & MTL3 skills preferred.
Prior experience in SAP preferred.
Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and superb time management.
Ability to lead teams and hold team members accountable, achieving results through internal and external resources.
Excellent administrative and follow-up skills to achieve successful maintenance and repair programs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee frequently stands and walks. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
