Key Accountabilities
Define process parameters, tooling and specifications to meet production performance metrics (Customer complaint costs, NCI costs, RTY, OEE)
Issue and revise machine specifications that define process parameters; issue order changes for temporary changes to production orders
Resolve production issues to enable production to meet demand, RTY and OEE goals
Perform Root Cause Analysis on chronic process problems and implement corrective/preventive actions which result in process stability and improved capability.
Lead investigations into customer complaints, NCIs or other process quality issues that are data-driven and focus on preventive actions to satisfy customers and improve internal quality metrics
Provide manufacturing support as required including assigned off-hour availability
Lead corrective actions or process changes through collaboration, communication, well-defined plans and timely implementation
Input new product BOMs and operations into the ERP
Provide process definition for new products to facilitate successful scale‑up into production
Provide hands‑on guidance and direction with production operators
Evaluate process tooling and determine acceptable conditions for production; coordinate rework activities
Create and revise process instructions such as SOPs and work instructions in support of process definition
Create reports that are clear and detailed as required by the subject; create and present reports or overviews for group or leadership review
Assist in developing and implementing the plant wide Quality System (ie FMEAs)
Level of autonomy
The Process Engineer will be expected to work autonomously to define process parameters and resolve process issues deploying solid analytical and problem‑solving for process improvement solutions. In leading corrective actions and changes, the engineer decides on the action plan pending resources needed that might need approval based on cost level.
Job requirements
BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical) or related technical discipline required
5+ years experience in Engineering or related technical discipline
3+ years experience in the Coatings industry preferred
Able to work with solvents, machinery and computer systems
Six Sigma and/or Lean experience preferred
Strong interpersonal skills
Experience with ISO 9000 or other quality systems preferred
Rewards and Benefits
The salary range for these skills is $106,000.00 - $118,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
