Job Requirements
Current Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential required
Valid Maryland license (or Compact license) required at time of submission
Minimum 2 years recent acute care hospital experience as a clinical dietitian
Experience with Cerner or similar EMR / electronic medical record systems
Community hospital experience preferred
Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Ability to float within the hospital as needed, within scope of practice
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nutritional assessments, medical nutrition therapy (MNT), and patient education for adult and geriatric patients
Manage an expected caseload of 10–12 interventions per day, prioritizing acuity and discharge planning
Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, therapists)
Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner EMR and ensure timely charting
Address a variety of clinical needs including diabetes management, renal disease, enteral nutrition, post-operative nutrition, and complex metabolic conditions
Participate in orientation, complete required modules virtually, and maintain compliance with hospital policies
Weekend coverage appreciated but not required; flexibility to support patient care needs
