Job Description
Part-Time Patient Transporter
at Overlook Medical Center (Summit, NJ). Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, every other weekend. Starting rate: $18.50 per hour.
Responsibilities
Ascertain patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or verbal instructions.
Guide or escort incoming patients from the admitting office or reception desk to a designated area.
Carry the patient’s luggage.
Assist a patient in walking to prevent accidents or transport a non‑ambulatory patient using a wheelchair.
Transport the patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility during a patient stay.
Deliver messages, mail, medical records, and other items.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements
HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent.
Ability to read, write, and speak English.
Ability to work well under time constraints.
Must be able to stand for long periods, bend, lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; may be exposed to extreme cold or heat.
CPR certification preferred.
