About the Family:
We are a high-energy, dual-executive family with two 7-year-old twins who are both in school full-time. Each parent works a mix of days from home and from offices located about 30 minutes away. Having recently relocated from outside the country, we are now focused on building a trusted and reliable village to support our family and home in the Main Line area.
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and highly trustworthy House Manager & Family Assistant who can help keep our household running smoothly while also providing support with childcare. Our friendly and energetic 95-lb dog is very much part of the family, so comfort with pets is essential.
This role is ideal for someone who naturally anticipates needs, takes pride in creating an organized and well-run home, and approaches their work with care, discretion, and professionalism. We hope to find someone who feels like a true extension of our family—bringing calm, structure, and peace of mind while helping to reduce the daily mental load that comes with managing a busy household.
Promptness, reliability, and strong follow-through are especially important in this role, particularly as both parents maintain demanding schedules and much of our extended family lives abroad.
Who You Are:
You are experienced in managing households and caring for children, thoughtful in your approach, and genuinely enjoy supporting others. You are organized, attentive to detail, and confident taking initiative without needing to be micromanaged. Warm, dependable, and respectful of the family’s space and routines, you are also flexible as needs shift.
We are looking for someone who is proactive and reliable, able to anticipate the family’s needs, act independently, and integrate seamlessly into our home. In this role, you will help manage the household while ensuring the children have everything they need, keeping the environment organized and running smoothly, and providing additional support when the family travels or needs occasional evening coverage. You take pride in caring for a home and supporting a family as if it were your own.
Core Responsibilities:
Childcare & Family Support
Morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups for school (this happens at the local bus stop which is in front of the home)
Be a reliable presence in the home for the kids in the morning and again from the afternoon until the early evening hours
After school support: snacks, homework help, activity drop-offs
Prepare backpacks and clothing for school/activities
Provide evening childcare or support during parent travel (approximately 2 nights/quarter)
Be a consistent, nurturing presence in their daily routines
Household Management & Organization
Maintain household organizational systems (closets, pantry, toys, etc.)
Maintain and tidy all home areas (e.g., kitchen counters, sinks, dog hair vacuuming, etc.)
Reset daily for smooth mornings and calm evenings
Manage seasonal organization and swaps (e.g., clothing, decor, gear)
Coordinate donation drop-offs and pickups
Oversee household schedules, appointments, and calendars
Household errands
Prepare for guest stays, travel, and special events
Occasionally supervise or communicate with service providers (e.g., cleaners, window washers, etc.)
Inventory Management & Errands
Keep pantry, fridge, and household items stocked
Manage shopping lists and orders (Amazon, Target, grocery)
Run occasional errands: returns, dry cleaning
Handle incoming packages, mail sorting, and recycling
Meal Management & Prep
Coordinate weekly meal plans with a focus on healthy, protein‑rich, veggie‑forward, organic meals
Prep and cook dinner (~3x/week) for the family and snacks for the kids
Pack school lunches and help with lunch ideas for the children
Keep the kitchen clean and tidy post‑meal preparation
Laundry & Linen Care
Full laundry care (clothing, bedding, towels) for the family: wash, dry, fold, organize
Steam or prep clothes as neededRotate bedding and refresh towels
Keep laundry areas clean and stocked
Manage kids’ clothing as they grow
